Of Sunlit Skies And Glassy Seas

Who I Am

I am a private tutor these days, sharing my love for literature and the English language to youth in the international and local school system. I also volunteer my time to tutor prison inmates sitting for their national exams. This weekly trips to the prison school in outlying Tanah Merah, in particular, has given me perspective.

A writer writes, I suppose, though in more than one medium. . . apart from words, I write through music, sometimes visuals, pictures, and through what I wear.

Not only do I dig wearing fun and interesting things, (though with an eye to the practical), I get a great kick out of helping people pick clothes and colours and styles which enhance and bring out who they are. That’s where the ‘stylist’ part comes in.

I worked as a magazine journalist for several years, and freelanced as a fashion stylist/writer for the national daily. Those were fun times.

Those were times I learned so much about colour, proportion, what makes a good people shot, what makes a good product shot, lighting, textures; style. Of course this is a lifelong pursuit, and I’m blessed that I’ve been able to keep watching trends and follow pop culture.

My blog thus far has mostly been autobiographical, chronicles of highlights and lowlights, learning journeys, some favourite things. I’m redefining it at the moment, finding a niche which I have a passion for and which readers would find useful to their lives and keep coming back to.  A reference site, and one that entertains, informs, encourages, and makes them laugh along the way.

If you have any tips or comments about what you personally like to read, why not drop me a line here? Just leave a reply in the ‘Comments’ box and see where that takes us. You never know!

And, if you are quite quite interested in finding out what I’m *really* like, these posts below will give you a better idea. Although some of the things are stuff you might not have done or identify with, the details don’t matter. I’ve a feeling we have a lot more in common than we realize.

It took me a while to come up with 27 things, aside from hobbies and likes/dislikes, to keep things interesting. Do read on and maybe some of my silly antics and adventures might inspire you to come up with a list of your own.
